I love this painting of Danny Arnold as it shows
him with his favorite cigar
looking at me in the same way he did when we worked together on
the “Aku”
celebrity golf tournament at Wailea,
Maui in 1987.
Danny knew everybody in
Hollywood and they were all there to play golf and perform for the audience.
From Jerry Lewis to Burt Lancaster;
it was quite an experience. At that time I
was the executive in charge of the tournament and the marketing manager of Wailea Development Corporation. It was after that tournament, the third of
which we had produced together, that Danny wanted to see my paintings. Upon
doing so, he promptly hired me to paint his boys, David and Daniel; his wife
Donna, and himself.
Danny was best known for his production of ‘Barney Miller’ a TV series which
ran for many years and won him an Emmy award in 1975,
and the old TV series
‘Bewitched’, which is now being produced as a new movie.
